Meet Kim

Up Date

If you believe in unicorns, then too, you must believe in angels, and miracles. I do, my friend Kim was diagnosed with terminal cancer in January 2001 and told it was inoperable. She was told to get her affairs in order as she had 3 months to live. At that time I asked many friends to pray for her, and I of little faith, started praying in earnest for a miracle.

God answered my prayers. Two months later a series of scans and x-rays could find no trace of the cancer by her heart and lungs. But that's not the end of my story, friend, For she still had cervical cancer growing at an alarming rate, for which she underwent months of agonizing Chemotheraphy.

I am please to tell you that as of July first she has been declared cancer free. She will have to have scans a couple of times a year for the rest of her life, but what a small price to pay. And I pray every night for her continued health. The angels are watching over her, of this I am sure.

I have some unhappy news as of November1st. the doctors have detected new cancer in Kim. She is now undergoing more Chemo. Three months worth this time. Please, everyone include her in your prayers. Prayer works. God hears even the smallest voice.

December update

More not so good news. About the 12th Kims oldest daughter, Jamie, called to tell me that 2 of the 30 masses in Kim's stomach are growing at an alarming rate and causing a great deal of pain. She has been taken off of chemo and they are now doing radiation therapy. God answers us in his own time and way. I'm afraid his answer is no.

Dec 19, Kim chatted with me on AIM last night and she is doing better once again. the radiation is shrinking the larger tumors and pain has lessened tremoundously. My biggest prayer for her is that she not be in pain. I know I'm not the only one praying for her and we both thank all of you.

January Update

I've heard from Kim several times this month. She's had many ups and downs. Her daughter Jammie is due any day now to have a baby, her mom has been in and out of the hospital and she has gone back to chemo theraphy. The large tumor shrunk but five more have grown to about the size of egg yolks. The good part is that they are not growing rapidly and the chemo should inhibit the growth and hipefully shrink them. Keep those prayers coming. May God Bless each of you.

May Update

Kim is doing well so far. Lots of cards in regular mail. She hasn't felt up to being on the computer so any e-mail hasn't been answered for the past few months. Bear with her but she apperciates all e-mails.

Kim is continuing with more Chemo but they will be trying something new as well, The latest tumors continue to grow at a 10% to 20% rate. But she sure looks good to me on her cam. Outside of the short short hair (about 2 inches now) the only other sign she is showing is dark circles around her eyes. But not much worse than if we stayed up all night with a sick child. Please say a prayer for her. God listens. May God bless you for your kindness..

For those that have been following Kim's progress,

this is so hard to do, I called Kim's mother, Rose, today. Kim is in the hospital on a straight morphine drip. The cancer is now in several vital organs. I can't tell you much more because that's about all I could understand between her tears and mine. It doesn't seem fair, she's only 41. Her spirit and her body have been thru so much. Get this, I did understand Rose to say that Kim was laughing and joking with her yesterday. I'm sorry, I have to stop for now. I will call Rose again on Saturday and then let you know how Kim is doing.
